Vegan Chocolate Buttercream Icing

A basic chocolate buttercream icing to use for icing cakes and other bakes.

Here is a basic, all-purpose chocolate buttercream icing to use for chocolate cakes, cupcakes, or any other bakes where chocolate icing would be necessary, or desired. I have used it here on my Simple and Rich Vegan Chocolate Cake, as is pictured above.

If you prefer a softer icing to drizzle, here is my recipe for a delicious chocolate glaze – great for single layer cakes, or a tray bake cake as in my Wacky Chocolate Cake recipe.

If neither of those are your thing, here is my vegan chocolate ganache recipe, which can be used either in a runnier consistency for pouring, or thickened and whipped to spread. A video tutorial is on my YouTube channel for my Wacky Cake recipe.
